Turnover up 27 per cent – Strong growth in China: Pilz enjoys record turnover in the 2011 financial year
The Pilz GmbH & Co. KG group of companies, based in Ostfildern near Stuttgart, ended the 2011 financial year with a record turnover of 214.3 M €. Overall, the complete supplier for safety and standard automation increased turnover by 27 % in the last financial year. The automation company continues to grow and is planning large-scale expansions.

Coded safety switch PSENcode: Economical position monitoring – One sensor for three positions
Pilz has added a new product type to its range of coded safety switches PSENcode. The new coded safety switch provides safe monitoring of up to three positions in accordance with up to PL e of EN ISO 13489-1 and SIL CL 3 of EN/IEC 62061. The coded safety switch also undertakes safe position detection. As a result, only one safe sensor is required for position monitoring. No additional sensors are needed and the number of safe inputs on the evaluation device are reduced, making the new product type PSENcode an economical solution.

New safety relays PNOZ from Pilz - PNOZcompact expands compact class
The automation expert Pilz is once again expanding its portfolio in the PNOZ range of safety relays, with functionality in mind: The safety relays PNOZcompact monitor the basic functions of emergency stop or safety gate, providing maximum safety up to Performance Level (PL) e or SIL 3. These safety relays are optimised for functionality and can be used in all areas of engineering: the compact class is particularly beneficial in projects with the highest safety requirements and a fixed function range.

Pilz and Thales Deutschland set the course – Safe, economical automation solutions for rail systems
Thales Deutschland and the automation company Pilz have concluded a co-operation agreement, with the aim of working together to develop products, functions and applications for signalling technology. Both partners are currently working on joint approval from the Federal Railway Authority (EBA) for an application with the highest safety requirement (CENELEC SIL4). The technical basis for these rail engineering solutions is the automation system PSS 4000 from Pilz.
